Day 2 Impressions: Poor Unfortunate Souls

Well another moment another day, let's get started!
Ok so the riddle wasn't much harder today as well, so help me if the answer to tomorrow's is "Draco Malfoy" I will be a bit unhappy. However, I do have to say that the riddles bring me back, even if it's only temporarily, to the hunt for the quill. I wouldn't mind more things LIKE this, challenges of wit, though I would appreciate a changing riddle, different answers, but I know that might not be possible for this yet.

As for what's here there are only three things of note. The first is the advertised Florean Fortescue ghost plot, but that was more or less what I expected it to be, that his knowledge of history would have been important for the Hallows hunt, but in the end he may have been too much of a McGuffin character towards the end compared to how we had information play out through Dumbledore, Hermione, Phineas Black and the Grey Lady, as well as Ollivander.

Second, the bit of history re Diagon Alley was unexpected but nice, and makes some sense to have the pub be open but perhaps disdained by muggles (I can imagine they gave them the bad beer....). I also imagine why it was never talked about to the muggle minister, as I think that would be a thing of issue... given it's the gateway to the magical community in the area.

Finally the love potion. This is a let down. First the image is different, and in a different image category than the love potion we had talked about earlier (the possibility that this is just a generic while the most potent would be what students would brew) but the idea is the same, and brings some concern to the idea that love potion will be brewable at some point in the near future. In addition, I have been informed, though cannot confirm, that Doxycide is the ONLY potion included in the new potion book, and though it has two parts, it takes approximately forty minutes, is worth 9 points, and displays simply as "doxycide" in the trunk, not differentiating between the part 1 and part 2 as per the suggestion of the image file.

So as always, what do you all think of this gradual reveal?

  1. I think it's bogus that Doxycide would be the only potion. If you look at your badges, you see we have a new one for brewing TWO different potions from Book Of Potions. It would be very weird to only have one potion when you ought to be collecting such a badge.

    1. It's odd. The person that has the book can currently only brew doxycide, and the book was only available for a short amount of time. As it stands the web page to purchase the book does not exist, which means that there is no "stand in" code for it as of now. So there is a possibility the book is somehow glitched and not currently coded for both potions, with that being added on some time this week. It is peculiar though, and (I will touch on it with todays' post) odd considering the theme of this release.
