Six Months Later....

A quick blog post reflecting on some of the changes so far made to Pottermore based off of some of what was in the survey back in April. So let's look shall we?

Now, in that post, I had a top five, basically consisting of things that were hinted to come, but were not so far, as well as some of my own delusions. Since we've had a bit of an update recently, and quite a bit of news breaking, it seems Pottermore has responded in part.
  1. NEW POTIONS AND DUELS-Well they tried? It seems that new spells WILL be coming in the immediate future, but the time of which is difficult to tell, and the potency and effect of such spells hasn't been measured yet. Though the result from most of the community seems to be something along the lines of "too little, too late." Obviously, Pottermore did miss a timing opportunity to show something in force, as dueling's changes did NOT coincide with the new spell addition.
  2. Scaling difficulty and points for potions/Scaling difficulty ranks for duels.-Well..... um, sort of? They did put in a ranking system as I have requested, though this appears to make it EASIER To hunt newbies, not harder, both by making their average visible in duel history and by giving them a place to comment and a place for people to view ALL the recent duels in Pottermore. At the time I'm writing this, there are a few changes that could be made to potions in the near future, prompting an update, but that hasn't happened. Though duels did become heavily "nerfed" as the dueling system was randomized and made harder for bots to be employed in any effective manner.
  3. USE OUR ITEMS. -Flat out no.
  4. MESSAGING. -No.
  5. Buying our wand.-I think Pottermore is laughing at me now.
Well, though I know that the new dueling system is a pain, and that Pottermore's usual way of announcing things has been the usual hype followed by painfully lackluster performance. I still have hope that Pottermore could improve at some point. Though at this rate, I think it is painfully obvious management needs to connect with its users. As such, I will ask all of you. Send your thoughts to Pottermore when you have a moment. Heavens, send them a link to this blog or some of the posts regarding their lackluster performance.

    1. I know, six months and 2/5... and even that is being generous.
