Looking Back on Pride for Points.

This is saddening. Just coming out of this I have to say  it is saddening, and there are fewer showings of human tendency than the inexplicable desire for conflict.

The Potter Phenominon

Everyone wants to be Harry Potter. Everyone. This is both a good and a bad thing, and shows us how when trends start, they are very, very hard to stop.

Lilys and Runi's reaction to Pottermore's Million Point Competition

Runi: So I think we both agree that a contest like this ruins the game a bit right?

Lilys: Definitely, more than ruins the game because I doubt there was ever much of a 'gaming' element to Pottermore. I think the greatest insult to users is and will be that it undermines all other hard work that they've put in under the past 4 months.

A bit off topic, but do you think that Pottermore has ever been a 'valid' game when compared to other computer games and online games?

Runi: Well that's another discussion entirely but we'll probably circle back in a bit...so Pottermore as game? I think it barely qualifies

The Million Point Mishap

Well this happened... Let's discuss after the break.

Disappointments: Diagon Alley

Oh Diagon Alley... whatever potential you had is gone now for the most part, and the flaws here speak much to the flaws of Pottermore as a whole.

A Rant on Civility and Gamergate

Gamergate, it's been an ongoing problem, both for the gaming community and for feminism, women's interests and general civility as a whole. As it is, I hope you enjoy my rant regarding Gamergate and it's problems.

Why Pottermore Needs a New Game

Remember when you thought this would be a thing?
Now while I've said that Pottermore's best asset is it's users... this isn't necessarily a great thing for the website, especially as users cycle though and get bored or ostracised due to the troll problem. So for details check here after the break.

New Poll, New Look

As you can all see, we have a new Poll and a new look for the blog. So please, remember to vote, subscribe and see all the 107 published posts we have managed to gather here.

As a side note: there SHOULD be a debate coming in at some point, but I'm personally not against arranging one against any reader, forcing me to play devil's advocate. So whether it is Rowling's standing, mythology, head cannon, or pure blood fanaticism, write to us and let us know what you would want to debate!

Pottermore: You Fixed it Wrong

So that's how you fix things... Pottermore... why do you fail so much?

Rowling Hates Slytherin?

So in the last release we learned more about Slytherin in a sort of vicarious way, through Draco. In truth, I would call Half Blood Prince the best book on Slytherin in general. However, because of the recent release I heard the following: "Rowling hates Slytherin" "Rowling thinks people are nuts for liking Draco" and while I know that Rowling is capable of defending herself... I would like to defend her, and Slytherin as a house.
